Rentr Secures $2M Seed Funding from VMS Ventures

LONDON – January 27, 2025 – Rentr, a UK-based AI-driven PropTech startup revolutionising the property rental market has today announced a $2 million seed investment from VMS Ventures, a part of Constellation Software Inc. This marks the second successful venture within the Constellation Software Inc. family for Founder and CEO, Vik Tara. His previous company, TBL, was acquired by Volaris Group, a part of Constellation Software. Now, VMS Ventures, another Constellation initiative, has provided $2 million in seed funding to Rentr.
Rentr is disrupting the traditional lettings model by facilitating direct relationships between landlords and tenants, eliminating the need for intermediaries, and streamlining property management through cutting-edge AI. Born out of Vik Tara’s 30+ years of experience in the property rental market, Rentr addresses the inefficiencies and unfair practices he witnessed firsthand, empowering both landlords and tenants with greater control and transparency.

Vik is assembling a team of seasoned professionals with a proven track record in real estate technology. These individuals, most of who collaborated with him at TBL to build software used by the UK’s leading estate agencies, are now bringing their expertise to Rentr. This close-knit team, with a strong company culture built on trust and shared vision, includes:
  • Gaurav Kalia, CTO: A technology leader with over 17 years of experience, spearheading the development and implementation of Rentr’s AI solutions.
  • Deepak Chandrababu, COO: With nearly two decades in proptech, Deepak bridges the gap between human expertise and technology to solve real-world challenges.
  • Dr Adam Blaxter Paliwala, Executive Strategist: A futurist with a PhD in Linguistics with a focus on cataloguing voice, responsible for building strategic partnerships and driving company growth.
  • Jen Naiff, CMO: A marketing expert with 21 years of experience, including 8 years in startups, driving growth through innovative strategies.
